Helping You Put Your
World Back Together
F.A.Q. |
How long is the divorce process?
It varies depending on your exact circumstances. If your case becomes contested, however, it can take up to several years.
Can I use the Divorce Connections Process even though my spouse is not in agreement to a divorce at this time?
Yes. Divorce Connections has many trained professionals that can help you. We have marriage and family therapists, psychologists, trained parenting coaches, as well as mediators that can help you and your spouse to reach a meeting of the minds. Keep in mind that your spouse cannot contest (fight) the divorce itself, but can contest the terms of the case (i.e. custody, visitation, division of assets, etc).
Do my spouse and I both have to hire attorneys?
No. You may certainly want to hire an attorney for a consultation though. Our attorneys will be happy to inform you of your rights, give you sound, cogent legal advice regarding your situation. However, The Divorce Squad attorneys are not going to "fight" for you. They will attempt to steer you toward long lasting resolutions.
Do we need to have an attorney at all?
No. Once your legal questions have been answered (by an attorney), you may hire that attorney to handle your case and represent you. Or, you may choose to represent yourselves and hire a mediator to prepare the paperwork for you.
What are the fees involved in the Divorce Connections Process?
Each professional member has their own fees and will vary from one another. Once you do decide to move forward, we ask for a $500 deposit to cover the time spent reviewing your situation to learn whether it appropriate for this process and to develop the customized and proprietary “Connections to CompletionTM” Roadmap to Success. Studies have shown that you can likely save 33% to 50% using this process as compared to traditional methods.
Do you have any type of service guarantee?
This is such a rarity in any service industry, especially one like this surrounding divorce. We are convinced that this team approach is the best way to proceed, that we do offer a guarantee. Now we don’t guarantee that you’ll be happy throughout this whole process, or that you’ll necessarily love the end result, after all, you’re getting divorced! What we do guarantee is the initial $500 deposit (as described above). If you’re not satisfied up to the point of receiving your “Connections to CompletionTM” Roadmap to Success, we’ll return your $500 deposit. No questions asked.
Will I have to go to court?
No, if you and your spouse can reach an amicable agreement and settlement. Often times, when you have worked out your own settlement, the agreement is signed and notarized by each of you and submitted to the court without a personal appearance. If, on the other hand, you and your spouse cannot come to an amicable settlement through this process, you may very well need to go to court, and probably more than once.
